Ian Chen

Why are you here?

Advanced therapies have been perceived as the highest-potential treatments for years. During my time in this field, I have seen the promises, but also challenges. There is a lack of stable, affordable, and high standard MSC in the market, and this significantly hampers the development of cell therapies. Since the day I heard about Cellcolabs and met the team, I knew this was the company and people I'd like to work with. I firmly believe the team and the technology behind could solve the real challenge in advanced therapies and bring value back to patients and societies.

What is your background?

I have a MSc of Bioentreprenuership at Karolinska Institute, and a BSc of medical laboratory science and biotechnology at Taipei Medical University. I also have a mix of work experience in academic, industrial, and management consulting in life science.

Is there something else that we should know about you?

I used to be a baseball player back in school. Even though I have not played at a competitive level for years, the athlete's mindset is still a part of my nature. I'm determined, persistent, and dare to take on challenges.
